The Mother Hen Race shall be a White Sail Pursuit Race from H.Y.C. to Carillon Island

The Mother Hen Cruise began as a joint effort organized by J.P. and Betty Petolas (power boaters) and Ted Bowser (sail boater) and took the form of a combination cruise and sailboat race. The power boaters offered to transport supplies so that the sailboats, some small in stature, could race up to Carillon Island. The trip upriver was followed by a day on the beach, dinner and a pleasant evening of rafting together offshore. This has become a family affair so bring the kids, pack your dinner and hibachi and meet us at the Club for a 14:30 departure.
 
NOTE: Children under the age of 18 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

LOCATION

The beach is located on the North East side of Carillon Island. As usual, we promise to leave the beach cleaner than when we arrived, so everyone, please pitch in.

The start line will be between the mast on the Webb Pier and an inflatable buoy or the permanent sylvira race

mark at the other end of the line.

The race officer will make a sound signal and announce the start times on VHF channel 72.

Total race distance: 6.7 nautical miles

FINISH

Finishing mark: abeam to Port channel mark H123 north of Carillon Island.

The first boat to pass abeam of channel mark H123 shall be the winner and shall record the finishing sequence of all other competitors.

After finishing all participants are invited to raft up off the beach on the north east side of Carrillon Island.
